Welcome to my website dedicated to helping parents raise responsible children and helping teachers to instruct their students more effectively.  It's all about the children! I do this in three ways:

  1. By writing books for parents, teachers, and children.
  2. By instructing others on how to write for children through the Institute of Children's Literature.
  3. Through my blog of random thoughts on parenting and teaching children.

To see what I've been up to since graduation from Douglass College in 1971, see my resume.  There you'll find a complete listing of my published stories and articles in addition to my education and occupation information.

To follow my everyday fun, "friend" me on facebook.

And follow my blog to find tips for parents and teachers.

In my "spare" time, I enjoy sewing (especially quilting and Care Bags 4 Kids), crafting, researching my genealogy (I can trace it back over thirty generations on www.ancestry.com), swimming at my sports club, cooking (see my favorite recipes link above), doing puzzles of all sorts, and tweaking this website (I also tweak our church's website: www.holyeucharist.org).

I am particularly proud of my three daughters, Chelle, Kim,and Val and the successful lives they lead as adults and the wise choices they have made along life's path. Chelle is a former hotel manager now a SAHM married to an army colonel.  They are currently stationed at Ft. Beloir, VA and have two little girls (Heidi and Holly).  Kim teachers 7th grade science in Lakewood, NJ. She is dating a state corrections officer.  And Val teaches 3rd grade in Russellville, AR.  She and her County CSI husband have two boys, Joey and Andrew, with a little girl on the way!

And I am very grateful to my supportive husband, Doug, for 37 wonderful years of marriage.  We have had many joyous moments raising our children and now watching the antics of our grandchildren.

So, explore my website and learn all that you can from my 37 years of experience as a wife, 35 years of experience as a parent, and 25 years of experience as a teacher.
